The cash drawer setup allows you to configure up to two cash drawers on the current workstation.
- Interface Selection: MicroSale primarily interfaces with cash drawers through the drawer kick feature commonly found on POS printers. Alternatively, you can connect cash drawers using serial ports for seamless integration. To begin, navigate to the cash drawer setup menu and click on the drop-down menu next to "Cash Drawer #1."
- Select Connection: From the drop-down menu, choose the appropriate printer name or serial port to which the cash drawer is connected. For instance, if your cash drawer is connected via the drawer kick on the printer named "receipt," select it from the list.
- Default Codes: MicroSale comes preloaded with default codes for Cash Drawer #1 and Cash Drawer #2, ensuring compatibility with various makes and models of cash drawers. These default codes streamline the setup process and save you time.
- Save Changes: Once you've made your selections, touch the "Save Drawer" button to apply the changes and finalize the setup.
Important Note for Dual Cash Drawer Setup: If you're using two cash drawers simultaneously, ensure that the option "Drawer #1 Opens for all cashiers" is disabled on the POS station. You can find this option in the register setup menu under register options by terminal, specifically under printing/cash drawer options.
Alternative Interface: In addition to the printer drawer kick interface, MicroSale supports cash drawers with a serial interface, offering an alternative connection method. This interface is particularly useful if you need to restrict access to the cash drawer (e.g., No Sale/Open Drawer) during another transaction.
By following these straightforward steps, you can efficiently set up and configure your cash drawers in MicroSale, enhancing your POS experience and streamlining your transactions.
