Make sure to use the following options together for a seamless break experience:
Mandatory Time Out for Breaks
This setting makes sure that employees who clock out for a break stay off duty for a specific duration. It's handy for sticking to labor laws, especially for younger employees who need a full half-hour break. It also helps save on labor costs by ensuring employees stay off duty for the specified time. Managers can override this if needed.
**How to set it up:**
- After checking this option, enter the desired break duration in minutes in the Mand. Break Mins box.
- If the box is inactive, the Mandatory Time Out for Breaks is turned off.
*Note: Managers can still make exceptions when necessary.*
Paid Break Minutes
This option decides how many minutes employees get paid for during a break. If the break goes over this time, the excess won't be paid.
**How to set it up:**
- Enter the allowed paid break duration in minutes. If you set it to "0", paid breaks are turned off.
*Note: This ensures fair compensation for break times.*
By following these simple steps, you can smoothly manage break durations and comply with labor laws.
