Preauthorization (with PAX)
If using preauthorization (attaching a credit card to bar tabs and/or phone orders) with PAX devices, it is impudent to check the box, "Supports Preauth/Postauth" on each register that will be using preauthorization; it must also be set on the register used for settling the batch.
When using preauthorization, do not set the device(s) for auto-settlement. The settlement of the batch needs to be initiated by the MicroSale software.
It is critical for "Supports Preauth/Postauth" to be enabled on the register that is settling the batch or the credit card charges will not be captured! If you have any question on this, please reach out to support@microsale.net.
You only need to enable preauth post auth if you are setting the register option “hold charge card for open tabs”.
