Overview
MicroSale operates in a semi-integrated mode with EMV, ensuring that no cardholder data is stored within the MicroSale system. Although direct signature capture on the POS is not supported, MicroSale is compatible with EMV devices that include this feature. Additionally, the system can handle tip prompts directly on the POS screen.
Signature Capture with Compatible Devices:
- Supported Devices:
- PAX A Series
- Ingenico ISC 250 and others (supported by Datacap NETePay)
- Functionality:
- These devices enable the use of the signature capture feature seamlessly with MicroSale.
Tip Prompt on POS Screen:
- POS Screen Prompt:
- Tip prompts are supported directly on the POS screen.
- Compatible with devices like the Touch Dynamic Quest tablet, ideal for tablets or workstations with screens that customers can access directly, such as those that can be flipped.
- Touch Support Limitations:
- While customer-facing displays are supported, touch functionality is not available on these displays.
- Note: Standard workstations with rear-facing screens cannot utilize touch functionality on the screen.
Setting Up EMV Pinpad for Tip Prompts:
- Supported Devices:
- EMV devices with screens, such as PAX or Datacap devices (excluding IDtech).
- Configuration:
- Configure the EMV pinpad to prompt for tips.
- Options include a simple tip edit field or preprogrammed tip percentages.
- Refer to the PAX example for a simple tip prompt setup without percentages.
