This guide covers how to troubleshoot communication issues with PAX S-Series and A-Series devices in MicroSale POS. Follow these steps to ensure your PAX devices are properly connected and functioning.
PAX S-Series Not Communicating
You can reconnect the device to the POS workstation through the MicroSale.
*If your devices have been pre-programmed for “POS Auto Register”, through your processor via the PAX setup portal
Reconnecting via MicroSale:
- Access the PAX settings in MicroSale:
- Navigate to Managers Menu ➔ Register Setup ➔ Terminal Configuration ➔ Credit Card Setup ➔ PAX.
- Select the PAX Device Name from the dropdown menu.
- Click on Find Device (to populate a new IP address).
- Save
Steps to Reconnect:

Ping the Device:
- Attempt to ping the device’s IP address.
- If the ping is unsuccessful, the IP address may have changed, or the unit is offline.

Manually Finding the IP Address on PAX S300:
- Press the FUNC key + 1 key simultaneously to access the Menu.
- Enter the password (default is the current date in MM/DD/YYYY format).
- Press Enter (green button).
- Tap on Communication.
- Scroll to LAN Parameters and select IP Address.
- Write down the IP address for manual entry into MicroSale.
