Create a more engaging and visually appealing experience by adding pictures of your dishes on the POS buttons.
The menu item buttons have additional flexibility with customizations. Change the size, place buttons anywhere onscreen, change the color, add images, and/or add sound prompts.
Creating custom images for category/menu item buttons
| The proper image size is determined by your screen resolution; format the custom images to around 125 pixels x 75 pixels (when using the recommended resolution of 1024x768) | |
| Images must be Bitmaps (bmp) | |
|
Images must be placed within the Picture Files folder in the MicroSale Directory |
To adjust the visuals of your menu items or category buttons, you can overlay images. Keep in mind that only bitmaps (in the .bmp file format) are supported. Labeling the images with prefix letters like "M-" is also important, as this helps the software identify where and how to use the image. For example, "M-" is typically used for menu item or category buttons, “TBL-“ is used for creating tables on the button layout, etc.

Part 1: Creating your Images
MicroSale comes with hundreds of pre-made bitmaps to be used with our table layout
interface as well as for menu programming. MicroSale can also use bitmaps that you have
custom made for menu programming and table layout.
- Select your image that you want to make into a button
- Open the image in your preferred photo editing software such as Microsoft Paint, Photoshop, PhotoDraw, etc. (you can use any simple software that allows you to change the photo size)
- Resize the image to the appropriate dimensions (in Pixels). Keep in mind that only bitmaps (in the .bmp file format) are supported.
-
Add M- in front of the image name; Such as M-Coneydog.bmp
Images stay the same size (no stretching or skewing on buttons) and are dependent on your screen resolution. For example, if you're using a 1024x768 resolution, create a button that is roughly 125x75px. You can also adjust the size of the buttons to match the size of the image.
