Hand-key weight for precise cost calculation, supporting decimal numbers up to the nearest thousandth.
To do a hand-keyed weight, you'll use this "Quantity Required" prompt feature. The prompt allows decimals as well.
- For the item price, use the price for 1 unit of measurement.
- On the item name, we recommend to put the standard unit of measurement used and the price of one of the units, so its more understandable to the customer.
- For example: Item Name = Beef @$5.99/lb Item Price = 5.99 Misc. Function = Quantity Required
- For example: Item Name = Beef @$5.99/lb Item Price = 5.99 Misc. Function = Quantity Required

Prompting a quantity on a specific size only
- Please reference the "Shift Level" article for more information.
- In the shift level name, a "+" (plus sign) triggers the function of a quantity prompt. This is useful when you are using multiple shift levels (or sizes) but you need only one of the sizes to prompt a quantity, for example, when a quantity over a certain amount has a different price but you want to attach the sizes and quantities to a single menu item (rather than creating separate menu items such as "1 Portion Chicken" and "2+ Portion Chicken".
Example of the shift level:
Menu Item Name= "Roasted Chicken Piece"
Shift Levels=
1 Portion @ $1.00 each (does not prompt a quantity)
2+ Portions @ $.85 each (prompts a quantity @ $.85/each)
