Running a system go-live is used to reset sales data before you start using your system in a real, live environment. This allows you to fully test your system and train staff with real orders.
This procedure is used to purge all sales data (server history, closing history and product history).
The go-live does not delete the menu, employees, system options, etc., or your employees' time records (time clock information, clocking in/out).
Steps to running a go-live
As a safety precaution, you must enter the backdoor code to run the go live. The backdoor code is an algorithm only known by your MicroSale representative.
- First, run an end of day followed by end of week
- After the end of day and end of week have been ran and your sales numbers are all at $0.00, go to Managers Menu > Register Setup > Terminal Configuration > Misc. System Configuration Page > Misc Utilities > System Go Live
- You will be prompted to enter the backdoor code. If successfully entered, your system will reset.
Time clock troubleshooting
While learning the system and employees are clocking in and clocking out, employees may forget to clock out.
If you hit an error during the go-live for "Invalid Punch Times", go to Managers Menu > Time Clock Functions. You'll be able to edit the employees' times and clock them out. If your login access is set to the same, or lower, permissions level as the employee who did not clock out, you will be unable to access their data. Exit and log back in with the backdoor code to view all employees.
