User Account Control, or UAC, is a part of Windows 10 security that can prevent MicroSale from making necessary changes to the system. You must disable UAC on the system to properly use your POS system.
You must set the UAC (User Account Controls) to "0".
Issues caused when the User Account Control is not disabled:
- After an upgrade, cannot start an audit
- POS in countdown mode since upgrading from V8 to V9
- Problem Windows 10 Tablet; "Enter ID"; can't get into register setup, pathing, etc
- MicroSale not autostarting on POS; other terminals cannot see terminal
- Error 429 When saving POS to SQL Setup
- Occasion Checks Closing Out and "Disappearing"
- Not able to install V10 or V9 license; stuck on "updating"; "couldn't complete process"
- No databases when installing MicroSale
- Error 1935 installing "assembly component" in MicroSale
- Not able to license a terminal
There are two ways to disable UAC:
Disable UAC in windows from Control panel
- Open Control Panel
- Go to the following path:

Control Panel\User Accounts and Family Safety\User Accounts
- Click Change User Account Control settings link.
- Move the slider to the bottom (Never Notify), then click Ok.
Disable UAC in windows registry
You can also turn off UAC using the Registry Editor.
- Open Windows Registry : Start > run> type regedit
- Navigate to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
- In the right pane, modify the value of the EnableLUA value to 0:
- Restart your computer.
