Accepting credit cards with an EMV device when the internet is down depends on the specific setup of your payment processor. EMV chip cards typically require online authorization for transactions, but there are certain scenarios where offline transactions may be possible.
Offline CC Storage (Store and Forward):
- This functionality is exclusive t Datacap's NETePay EMV Solutions.
- To activate this feature, go to the Datacap PSCS website.
- In addition to toggling the feature on or off, users can customize settings such as the limit on the number of transactions stored offline, the purchase limit for stored transactions, and the duration for which offline transactions can be stored.
- Optionally, you can set MicroSale with the offline settings such as the maximum number of offline charges and set the maximum dollar amount allowed per transaction (if you do not have access to the PSCS website). However, in order to enable the offline storage, it must be activated through PSCS.
