At the end of your payroll period, the pay period automatically resets for the new pay period and emails the data to your preferred payroll provider. Compatible with ADP, QuickBooks, Paychex, Mangrove, Paycor, Great Plains, Millenium and MAS90.
Initial Payroll Export Setup
- Set up the “PayRollExport.INI” file; A blank one can be found in the “INI File List” subfolder located in the Micro$ale folder on the file server. Example of setup
- FYI: Subfolders ending in “List” are archived folders (contents are inactive until added to the “INI Files” subfolder).
- Once you’ve set up the PayRollExport.INI file, in Version 10 you must also duplicate the same settings into the MicroSale software in the Managers Menu > Register Setup > Terminal Configuration > Register Options > Email-Export-INI Settings > Misc Functions > Payroll Settings
- If the site is Microsale Version 9 you only need the PayrollExport.INI file located in the INI Files subfolder that’s located in the Micro$ale folder.
- From the Register Options, go to General > and check the box that says “Turn on file exports”
By default, the payroll automatically exports at the end of your pay period. To manually send the export or view the payroll, please follow these steps:
- Select “Print Closed Payroll Report” for the appropriate date range. Once you exit the report and the email sends successfully, it will prompt “Email Sent”
Where to find the report: Print Closed out Time Records: Manager Menu -> Reports Menu -> Time Keeping Reports -> Print Closed Payroll Report (Located in the 3rd column) -> Select Date Range -> Run Report (Wait until Report Generates) -> Email or Print

Editing time records & sending data to payroll providers
Flexible Time Record Editing & Payroll Provider Integration
Customize and manage your time records with ease while integrating smoothly with third-party payroll providers.
You can edit time records and send payroll data directly to third-party providers. To adjust the time record editing window, go to:
Managers Menu -> Register Setup -> Terminal Configuration -> Register Options -> Time Keeping -> 'Allow time record edit for how many days'
This setting also determines how long employee records are visible in the time clock review, where employees clock in/out and view their shifts for the pay period. This streamlined process ensures that you can manage payroll efficiently and with flexibility.
