This means access to a file or a directory is being blocked in Windows.
- Make sure that the MicroSale directory is shared across all terminals
- Make sure the MicroSale directory is set for full access and that file attributes are not set to read only.
- Make sure all Windows user account names and passwords are exactly the same on all terminals
You may receive an Error 70 during these tasks:
When running the automatic closeout
In addition to checking the steps above, check the file transfer if you receive an Error 70 during the closeout. The file transfer may be setup incorrectly (make sure the file transfer is set to look at the file server or main POS terminal).
When running a report
In addition to checking the steps above, check the firewall if you receive an Error 70 when running reports. In Windows, make sure the Windows firewall is turned off.
When saving the button layout
In addition to checking the steps above, check to make sure the Number of Users is set to the same number as users on your license. Managers Menu > Register Setup > Terminal Configuration > Change the Number of Users to the number of users on your license (number is shown on the gray bar on the bottom of the ID screen)
When tendering an order, using a serial cash drawer and pole display
In addition to checking the steps above, check to make sure that the cash drawer and pole display are not set on the same COM port.
