If your takeout orders (phone, online, delivery orders) do not need to be manually approved by an employee before sending to the kitchen, you can set the system to "auto-release" as soon as the order is placed (or auto-releases when the order is ready to be prepared for scheduled/future orders).
To use the auto-release feature, only one terminal/device must be configured with this setting.
- Choose the one terminal or handheld device that will be dedicated to auto-firing, and navigate to Device Setup.
- Make sure that Order Auto-Fire is set to Yes. Also ensure that this setting is configured to No on all other
terminals and devices.
Auto-Release is a convenient feature that ensures orders are printed automatically a specified number of minutes before the customer's scheduled arrival for pickup.
If auto release is not set, the message of Release Order flashes red on screen when the order is within the default production time of the pickup. You must touch Release Orders to release the order to the kitchen.
To have orders automatically release to the kitchen
Auto Release Pending Orders: When enabled, orders will be automatically sent to the kitchen printers or kitchen video system based on the set production time. This eliminates the need for manual intervention.
If auto release is not set, a "Release Order" message will flash in red on the screen when the order is within the default production time for pickup. To release the order to the kitchen, simply touch "Release Orders."
Orders send based on the set production time. To change the production time (across all terminals):
