Preauthorizing a tab after tab has been started (holding card data on a tab)

1. From the Server Menu, select Hold Charge

3. Select the appropriate tab
4. When prompted, type in an amount on the EMV device to preauthorize on the tab (the amount entered on the device is a preauthorization only; the true total will not be charged until you are ready to close the check)
   1. Read the message on the device. Once the charge is captured, it will say Remove Card
   2. On the POS, it will prompt you to start a tab with the card holder’s name. Select Yes (it will continue to use the original tab’s name)
5. The tab will now appear with a maroon background color. If it does not turn maroon, the screen may have not refreshed. Exit the screen and go back to the Server Menu to verify
